Vince Young – Matthew Berry and Eric Karabell don’t have Young in their top-10 QBs. Hahahahahahaha. Bold prediction: Young is a universal first round pick in fantasy leagues next year.
Travis Henry – He wears overalls, not condoms. Henry is prone to bumps and bruises, but he’s going to be a force in that Denver running scheme. He’ll probably miss a couple of games, so be sure to back him up with Selvin Young, but Henry is going to put up top-5 numbers when on the field.
Maurice Jones-Drew – The guy essentially didn’t even play in three games last year early on, yet still scored 15 touchdowns. That was with Fred Taylor staying healthy. The Colts, Texans and Titans might be the three worst run defenses in the NFL, and all happen to be in Jaguars’ division. With David Garrard at the helm, expect Jacksonville to be close to the league-lead in carries this season. Jones-Drew is Reggie Bush but with goal-line carries.
Adrian Peterson – Fantastic offensive line plus special talent equals huge rookie season.
Lee Evans – I’ve talked about Evans at length, but to put it simply, expect a monster season. Get ahead of the game, and treat him like a top-5 wide receiver.
Reggie Brown – Taking Randy Moss before Brown would be a bigger mistake than not watching the season premiere of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” Sunday, September 9. Well, maybe not THAT big of a mistake but still pretty egregious.
Calvin Johnson – Everyone knows to avoid rookie WRs, but Johnson might be the best athlete on the planet. Detroit will also throw the ball about as often as any team in the NFL. Other than Randy Moss’ ridiculous 1998 campaign, expect the second best season ever by a rookie wideout.
Vincent Jackson – People will look back in shock and awe as to how late Jackson was commonly drafted in fantasy leagues this year.
Ronald Curry – I don’t care who’s throwing him the ball, Curry is Oakland’s best offensive player and will see ample opportunities with the team having to play catch up frequently.
