If Furrey has another big game, I’m going to be pissed. I was SURE he was a flash in the pan.

I think this might be the week I play Maroney. With Bell going down, Edge on bye, Julius Jones as my RB1, and Caddy looking less than stellar (I don’t know much about the Saints D vs. the run), I might have to back up my prediction that NE will try to pound the ball against the Colts. I just hate trying to predict New England…they might just try to throw the ball 50 times because everyone thinks they’re going to run. I also really hope that Leinart remembers he’s not supposed to suck, as I really can’t afford to have Boldin catching only a third of the passes thrown his way like the last 2 weeks (and the problems weren’t drops).

It’s pretty shocking to see Vick #1, but with the way NE plays Payton, and the way Vick has been playing (he’s carrying me right now…never thought I’d see the day!), it’s tough to argue with. LT and LJ have finally earned their own tier like they were supposed to have (and I love the Madden curse making the third member of the holy fantasy trinity absent).

I’m as surprised with Furrey as you are…Never underestimate the powers of Martz, I guess…I hear ya about NE being unpredictable, but I really think this is the week to play Maroney….Hopefully the bye week will really help Leinart get things straightened out…..As a Shaun Alexander owner, I’m not loving the whole Madden Curse, Super Bowl loser curse, him getting paid a fat contract curse all that much.

Why does everyone like Vick more than Manning? Is everyone drinking the same cool aid?

I am pretty surprised that you have Losman rated so low. Buffalo is playing Green Bay and they are awful against the pass. Losman has played well against bad defenses for the most part and pretty bad against good defenses.

Id certainly rate him higher than guys like Smith, Frye, Carr and Brunell. It is interesting to see you have old man McNair rated that high up too. I can pick him up and drop Losman but I dont know that it would make much sense doing that.

And as a SA owner I definately feel your pain. It is that much worse when you look at what LJ and LT are doing 🙁

Sports Bettor – I still like Manning more than Vick for the rest of the season (not by a whole lot, I might add), but for this week, considering the matchups, Vick gets the nod. I’m not ready to overreact to two great games and declare his career turned around, but from a fantasy standpoint, it’s pretty tough to argue about his value this year.

TV – Losman was a guy I specifically had trouble ranking this week. There’s no denying the matchup is great, but the fact remains he’s only thrown 6 TDs on the year. I wouldn’t blame you at all for starting Losman over McNair (another mediocre option w/ a great matchup), but I will contest that I like A. Smith over him a decent amount.

What’s really annoying about owning SA is how worthless M. Morris has been. I thought he’d at least be flex worthy. And now I’m officialy worried if Alexander will even be healthy come fantasy playoff time. What LJ and LT are doing is beyond salt in the wound.

Randy – I still think Przybilla can be a somewhat decent contributor in REBS and BLOCKS, but I didn’t like him much entering the year b/c of LaFrentz and Magloire being there. That’s going to be one huge time share at center. Can you believe Ratliff averaged 4.4 BLKS a game just 3 seasons ago?! But considering he’s already dealing with an injury doesn’t bode well. Actually, almost all of those C options are in pretty decent time shares…My advice would be to hold on to Przybilla for now, and keep your eye on Denver’s (Joe Smith) and especially the Spurs’ (Elson) box scores tonight. It’s pretty much a crap shoot w/ those options in my mind, so just keep watching the PT handed out amongst them and then go from there is the best advice I can offer for now.

C.J. Miles could be a nice deep sleeper. The fact Sloan started him certainly is good news, hopefully he keeps that up.

I’m with you nearly across the board. Although I’m playing Brad Johnson over McNair this weekend, but being close in your rankings, I figure you find it as much as a toss up as me.

I’m also pumped to see jerry porter make the list… Bout damn time. I think having Porter back is really going to help Oakland spread out the field, and Lamont Jordan might find some room to run, come wks 14-16

    J. Porter just rotting away on the bench was such a waste. Yeah, the Brad Johnson/Steve McNair decision is a coin flip.

Caddy vs. Maroney…I know you’re a big fan of Maroney, and I think pretty much everyone thinks the Pats are going to run, run, and run some more against the Colts, but isn’t Dillon more likely to get the bulk of the carries? I can’t help but feel that TB is going to make a more concerted effort to let the Caddy out of the garage against NO (and Alstot is nowhere tobe seen)…though I’ve seen enough terrible games from him that I’m never going to be truly confident in starting him (I’d like to think he’d be ranked higher than 21…but it’s tough to argue at this point). This is the only decision I’m really torn on this week…any other thoughts?

You know, in the beginning of the week I was going to pick New Orleans in this game, but after further consideration, I ended up going with Tampa at home. The last time Caddy ran for more than 100 yards happened to come against the Saints, and New Orleans’ D has only regressed since then, so the more I think about it, Caddy probably deserves to be higher on the list. Wanting to rely on Gradkowski as little as possible, you’d think Caddy should get plenty of touches as well. And it’s a good point about Alstott no longer getting carries, even at the goal line.

Basically, Caddy is the safer choice over Maroney, due to the uncertainty surrounding Dillon’s workload (and probable goal line work). So I wouldn’t blame you for going that route; still, I expect Belichick to get his best players on the field in such an important game and let Maroney loose.
