   padres OWNED the dodgers this year (13-5)
   good pitching ALWAYS beats good hitting
   padres over the yanks in seven!

   Believe me I knew of SD’s dominance over LA when I made that prediction…I do like the Padres, but everyone is just assuming they’ll glide past the Cards, and I don’t quite feel that way…They do have very solid pitching, though, Bill you are right….I think it’s one of the more wide open playoffs its been in a few years, as really almost any of the teams could take it.

   Keith – I’m with you on the Tigers scenario. I picked the A’s to win it all before the season and they are the team I’m rooting for now, and Det would have been a much better matchup than Minny in a 5 game series…Those young Tiger pitchers are going on fumes right now.

   I too will cry if the Yankees win it, but that lineup is truly one of the very best ever. It really is. But they are def. the last team I want to win.

   Ron Gardenhire thank you for using your fourth best reliever, it might have just cost you a playoff series. But at least Nathan and RIncon will be rested for winter.

   Wow, what a game by Zito!! Neshek is filthy, thank God he didn’t come in until it was too late! It’s a true sign of greatness when you lose and still look filthy…Santana’s stuff is just electric when he’s on. If Liriano can stay healthy, I really think they’ll be the best 2 pitchers in all of baseball. That’s scary. Anyway, go A’s! That was one hell of a game!

   Exactly, Neshek would have been a better option to start the inning as well…Santana is sick, it was their first loss at home with him on the mound in forever…If Liriano were healthy, the Twins would basically be impossible to beat in the playoffs, especially a 5 game series…Now the Twins are in some trouble, game 2 is def. a must-win. The Big Hurt is making himself some money.
