Im in a slow 16 team 5×5 roto draft which starts 1 at each offensive position, 3 of and 1 util, no mi or ci so relatively shallow, and 8 pitchers with 160 starts max but no innings max (daily rosters so i plan on drafting a bunch of mr).
Im up at pick 58 and i have miggy kemp and justin upton already. Pitchers have gone relatively early. I typically like to wait until at least round 5/6. I also wanted to wait on OF bc i felt theres a lot of depth with this format.
Right now liriano, haren, greinke, gallardo and hanson are available. Also latos carpenter cain and oswalt but i really dont want any of them this year. Do i take one of the 3 even though lirianos shoulder, greinkes ribs and haren in AL scare me or wait and hope 1 falls to my next pick (72) and then maybe combo it with my 6th rounder of marcum, scherzer, d.hudson, billingsley etc and instead take pence, bruce, rasmus or stanton?
Im worried i have too many OFs but will still have util open and dont want to reach on Sp but dont want to miss out on an ace either.
Who do u like, fyi morales and utley are left too. Thanks for your help!

Harley – This is probably too late, but I think I would have gone with one of those outfielders. Probably Bruce or Stanton actually. But if Greinke were totally healthy I would have said him. And Gallardo and Hanson are right there too. Basically I value all those guys pretty evenly, so I’m not much help. Who did you end up taking?
I’d stay away from Morales and Utley at that point.

Thanks, yes you are too late, but it’s ok. I ended up taking Pence since I wanted the “safer” BA to go along with my hopefully 25-30 homers and 15-20 steals. I thought Bruce and Stanton were a little to risky/upsidey for my 4th round pick, although I love both this year. Hoping to get one of: Liriano, Greinke, Gallardo, Scherzer and Latos on the way back even though they all scare me.

Totally agree Pence is the safest choice. I’m on board with all of the SPs, although at this point, Liriano might be the riskiest.
