That said, I've never seen a position so thin in any fantasy sport as catcher this year. There's three and then nothing (maybe a gamble on Wieters at four). Of course, there's also M. Montero, and others will probably bounce back like Soto and R. Martin, and others will come out of nowhere. And taking a guy like Mauer is almost like taking a tight end early in football - sure, he may be far better than the rest of his position, but his upside with his own stats is somewhat limited.
