Ya, and as I mentioned in my last article, Oden over Durant could look just as bad years from now. But those are two huge blunders you mention. And what about the Knicks taking Danilo Gallinari last year? When will these teams learn? The Pistons would be a joke with Wade.

Which easily foreseeable draft-day blunder did more to ruin potential a potential dynasty team: Dumars passing on Wade for Darko, or Green Bay blowing a chance at Barry Sanders to take Tony friggin' Mandarich? Both are mind-blowing for the possibilities they raise: the Pistons have been a perennial power team for several years now, great team play, great D, only missing a go-to scorer who can create his own shots for tipping the balance in long playoff series. Gee, I wonder who could have filled that role? I honestly think they would've won 3-4 titles instead of the one they got. Similarly, imagine the mind-boggling possibility of a Favre-Sanders-White troika, with all at the height of their first-ballot HoF powers....they could have rampaged through the 1990s NFL much like the team did back in the 60s. It's easy to say revisionism this, hindsight that, but Wade had a friggin' triple-double in the NCAAs, and Sanders was electrifying at Ok St, while Darko was nothing but a rumor (yeah, every 7' European guy is a Dirk Diggler clone, ok, whatever, touts) and Mandarich's profile practically screamed "roided up pudknocker" to anyone who would listen. Sad. I was pretty young when Jordan was drafted and don't remember Bowie going over him, but those two are right there with it as far as epic fails, and surely the worst two in my memory.
