It is a sad state of affairs right now in the Bay Area. For this NBA.com industry league that drafted 2-3 weeks ago, I took Monta Ellis quite high. That's one bad ankle sprain. We better find out the real story, just for entertainment value.

Hey, this division truly sucks, SF might surprise and hang around for a while.

Few things are more depressing than a team that drafts terribly. It's only worse in the NFL because the salaries are so absurd. The Warriors won the lottery when there was no clear #1 (Joe Smith!?!?), and of course when the 49ers get it and want to trade down, nobody wants to trade up. I wish they would have just skipped a few picks and drafted Braylon Edwards. Staley better be good since they traded a top-10 pick for him. With Monte Ellis somehow destroying his ankle (there has to be a good story here) after Baron left, I'm really starting to worry about the Bay Area sports scene. The 49ers at least have to be better than the Raiders, and hopefully Martz will at least make them entertaining, and I'll get a kick out of the JT O'Sullivan experience for however long it lasts...
