I just laugh at fans of both of these teams. At least the Giants have won more than one (1!!!!) playoff game since the Eisenhower administration. While I’ve never lived there myself, for a variety of bizarre reasons about half of my closest friends are from eastern Michigan, and I’m always telling them that they should just give up and find another team, the Lions have betrayed their trust too many times and forfeit any right to allegiance. It would be a harder case to make where the Giants are involved since they have some history of success, in they at least made the WS. As for the GMs, all I can say that is at least Millen is fucking up with kids who have apparent upside, instead of casting his lot with a bunch of fortysomethings. It’s almost like Sabean is actively trying to fail with his reconstruction of a second-tier all-star team….from 1994.

Good points – Sabean has a better history, obviously, but right now, he may be the more incompetent of the two. Hell, I admit, I thought Mike Williams would be a good pro. Bottom line, both should be unemployed.
