I’ve been extremely busy writing the running back profiles for RotoWire’s Fantasy Football magazine, so you’ll have to excuse my lack of posts. You can thank me later when I help you win your football league, however. Anyway, I thought we’d return to some “Take Your Picks,” a previous favorite. Only this time, it’s football, that way I can see if you guys are on the same page as me or not. As always, leave your choice and thoughts on the matter in the comments section.
Adrian Peterson or LaDainian Tomlinson?

Tough decision here but the superior offensive line has me taking All Day.
-
Tomlinson is safer. Peterson has more potential. I’ve yet to decide on this one.
-
I worry about Tomlinson’s motivation at this point. He’s getting long in the tooth for a RB and seems to know it, and is beginning to make oblique references to an earlier-than-expected retirement. He’s accomplished a lot in his career, he’ll surely go to the Hall. The only thing left to do is win the SB, and using up all his gas during the regular season won’t help that goal. He’s a great player, it’s possible he’ll still be driven to perform at his maximum level, but somehow I think he’ll be taking on less duties during the season and sparing himself more for a final playoff push or two before he hangs up his cleats. As such, I’m going with the kid.

Help us win our football league?? I would say 20% of what you say actually comes true and makes sense…Ive never read such nonsense before about fantasy baseball…i mean your always talking up players that end up sucking right after you speak about them..no offense but anyone who thinks Sidney Ponson will actually do well knows nothing about fantasy baseball…you are lost buddy and if we were in a league together I would squash you like a bug
-
To answer the football question is LT hands down..the fact you even have them in the same breath shows you have no idea what your talking about…AP has a history of injury problems his entire college career…hes a great talent but has only had 1 season…he doesnt have nearly as many receptions as LT…SD has the better overall offense as defenses will line up and play AP differently this season and just take away their running game..he struggled down the stretch compared to the start of the season when teams were caught off guard…AP is not the second pick…its Westbrook and its not even close
-
I love the people saying that Peterson has more potential. We are comparing him to the running back who is a season removed from the greatest statisical season in the history of football. LT is young enough, that he shouldn’t pull a Shaun Alexander type disappearing act, short of a major injury.
-
Go read the comments section again. I was CLEARLY joking about Sidney Ponson. I thought my mention of him avoiding jail gave it away. Guess not.
-
I’d like to think at least 21 and maybe even 22% of what I say comes true. Seriously, Peterson is def. a bigger risk, but LT’s mileage makes him one as well. It’s not just his age, he’s accrued a ridiculous amount of career carries and is still recovering from a TORN knee. He’s not as safe as usual…By the way, B. Westbrook has never played a full season ever in his career.

In defense of Dalton. Fantasy Player you are a chump. If you are so stupid to think he was serious you should go read Talented Mr. Roto. Perhaps Dalton can start a Rotoscoop Fantasy Football League and I am willing to wager whatever you want via Paypal that I would squash you. DDD rocks.

Dude, seriously, please do not change your writing style or your humor. Anyone who thought you were serious about ponson, well, lets just say that I wish I had those types in my fantasy league. It was funny, not confusing.
-
Oh c’mon, let’s not bash Thebestfantasyplayer. I mean, he IS Thebestfantasyplayer. And when Thebestfantasyplayer says that Peterson had “a history of injury problems his entire college career”, I’m sure Thebestfantasyplayer did his homework and is aware that Peterson continues to hold the All-Time NCAA mark for most carries by a freshman, and thus his statement couldn’t possibly be true.
So, Thebestfantasyplayer is either just fucking with you, or he’s dumb as a sack of hammers. Ok, so it’s the latter. In which case, Thebestfantasyplayer is the kind of guy who, if he passed out at my house, I would have my dog teabag him as he was sleeping, and then post the photos on the internet.

The RotoScoop faithful have spoken!!!
I’m going with AP.

Rotoscoop says
“I really like Sidney Ponson this year. After three starts, he has a 1.33 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and a 2.75:1 K:BB ratio. He’s in the best shape of his career and should get good run support from Texas’ lineup. He’s flashing a highly impressive 2.13 groundball to flyball rate and has really improved pitching out of the stretch, stranding a remarkable 87.5 percent of baserunners”does that sound like kidding to you???? lol….its easy to say your joking once you make a post and the guy gets lits up his next start…im assuming you would have been serious if he went on to win the Cy Young…you also said Cueto would be a huge star this year…since your statement he has gotten rocked everytime..lol..your lost rotoscoop…and ill take Westbrooks 15 games anyday against AP
and you guys shouldnt open your mouth when you have no idea what your talking about…Adrian Peterson played his freshman year in college injury free and had 339 carries…in his second season he missed basically missed 4 games..only have 13 total carries in the 4 games…he had 220 total carries because he was injured for a month….in his junior season he only played in 7 games total and had only 188 carried because he hurt his knee….
I love when someone called Dream Weapon opens his mouth talking smack and all he does is make himself look like an idiot
Roto..you werent joking..but nice cover….like I said if we played in 10 different leagues I would beat you in all 10 leagues…your nothing..and neither is ur clueless buddy dreamweapon

You can check the comments section yourself, it’s time stamped and all, about 1 hour after the post. It’s absurd even defending myself but here goes: an 87.5 percent strand rate is completely unsustainable – I was being a smart ass saying he improved his pitching out of the stretch. In reality, that was a stat pointing to how lucky he’s been. But seriously, come on, it’s Sidney Ponson! I hear ya tho, sarcasm is tough to translate over a computer.
And I’ll def. stand by my Cueto statement. A rookie pitcher undergoing some growing pains? No way! I expected him to be smooth sailing throughout his career. (That was sarcasm. I really didn’t expect that). Forget the ERA, the 1.25 WHIP and 46 Ks in 45.2 innings show how much he’s the real deal.
I like B. Westbrook a good amount. No doubt. He’s No. 5 on my board. But he gets far fewer goal line carries than the other elite backs, and it’s tougher to score from farther away, so that limits his TD potential.
Why didn’t you respond to Jewru’s offer?
-
My top RB’s standard scoring.
1. Peterson
2. Tomlinson
3. Barber
4. Addai
5. Jackson
6. Grant
7. Westbrook
8. LJ
9. Portis
10. MJD -
Lt is great, but he is more likely to breakdown than AD. Purple Jesus has an all-pro line, even if McKinnie does get suspended. In all honesty, T. Jackson isn’t great, but it’s not like Philip “rim-job” Rivers stretches the field either. If Brees was still in SD I would probably lean towards LT.
Nonetheless, BFP, you have the right to voice your opinion, although Mr. Del Don has gotten a lot right over the years, witnessed by many. Your shouts of dissent hold no weight and neither do your boxer-briefs. You have a petite p-p
-
I suck at everything.
-
You know, I read Jewru’s list, and It still makes me want to barf that I drafted both LT (R1) and Peterson (R5) last year, and was practically given Ryan Grant right before he started blowing up (for Chris Henry (!), in a deal that was proposed TO me (!!) by a friend), and I STILL missed the playoffs. I had Braylon. I had Gates. I had Big Ben. Boldin. Marshawn Lynch. Tons of guys. I shattered our league’s all-time scoring record by well over 100 points. And I missed the playoffs, just because something like 8 of the other 11 teams happened to have their highest scoring weeks against me.
God I hate fantasy sports sometimes.
-
Well Weapon I gave away Grant after his first game for Jesse freaking Chatman. I will never doubt Grant again. He is a beast.
-
Did I mention that I like guys?

Far more luck involved in H2H leagues like football than rotisserie.

Far more luck involved in H2H leagues like football than rotisserie.THERE IS SKILL INVOLVED IN CHOOSING THE RIGHT PLAYERS BASED ON MATHCUPS IN A GIVEN WEEEK IN FOOTBALL….TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH YOU. MAYBE IN A ONE WEEK MATCH IN THE PLAYOFFS THERE IS MORE AN ELEMENT OF LUCK BASED ON THE FACT YOUR TEAM COULD RUN INTO TOUGH MATCHUPS BUT OVER THE COURSE OF AN ENTIRE SEASON THE BETTER TEAMS AND PLAYERS WILL END UP WITH THE BEST RECORDS
-
You disagree with me that a H2H format doesn’t involve a lot more luck than an overall points based league? I’ve seen someone score the most points in a fantasy football league over the course of a season yet miss the playoffs b/c of his unlucky schedule. You can’t really play defense in a fantasy league. Obviously the better you do drafting your team, setting your weekly lineup, etc. gives you a better chance to win, but there’s really no debating that the best team doesn’t always win in a H2H format, where the best team always wins in a rotisserie set up. Therefore, more luck involved.
-
more luck like i said yes in a one game playoff game…but the best team usually does win….roto doesnt reward a team that started slow but is truly the best at the end of the season…maybe because a player made better trades or free agent pickups….so i dont agree the best team always wins roto…in baseball usually..but not in football….but it will not matter…roto, h2H, auction…whatever it will be I will end up on top
let the games begin

Thebestfantasy player has a loose caboose.

Yeah, I took good care of him, which explains his “loose caboose.” when I finished him off, his “man-cooch” was softer and more delicate than a wet paper bag.
