Take Your Pick

Often you will find two players who are being drafted typically right around the same area and have similar price tags in auctions. Maybe both will bring back close to equal value in returns. Or, the decision could make or break your season. Leave your choice and thoughts on the matter in the comments section.

Reyes… Guaranteed steals are the reason behind drafted him. 110 runs, 10-15 homers and 75+ RBI are all guaranteed with a good .290+ average. Nobody is assuming anything with Reyes.

With Hanley, we assume he knocks in and gets driven in by Mike Jacobs and Jeremy Hermida now that Cabrera is gone as often as he did last year. We also assume that his power is for real and he hits 30 again.

Reyes will GUARANTEE me those stats and that’s what I want from my first round pick. No surprises and no disappointments.

Gonna go with Brett again. I know I said that 30-30 potential triumphs over steals with the Crawford/Soriano Take Your Pick, but 80 steals is MUCH different than 50. Reyes, with those runs, steals and decent pop in the power department make him the pick here. Mets line up is nasty, and their table setter is going to benefit the most.

Jose Jose Jose Jose is the way to go. No doubt. No Cabrera plus shoulder worries equals no Hanley on any of my teams period. Jose is as safe as they come and is coming off I dare say a slightly disappoiting year. 80 Steals , 120 Runs, 15 Homers, 80 RBI. Top player in my book.

Looks like we are all in agreement here b/c I’d take Reyes too. I feel like you’d be buying low with him after last year, whereas with HRam, you might consider it buying high. Reyes has improved his plate discipline and I’d expect him to go back to the 15-20 HR area this year.

It’s risky with players like him, however, b/c a leg injury can really derail a season since so much of his fantasy value relies on SBs. Still, if he does stay healthy, he can literally single-handedly win you that cat, and he should approach 700 ABs batting atop that lineup. HRam is awesome, but this is the year to pass coming off that shoulder surgery.
