Take Your Pick

Often you will find two players who are being drafted typically right around the same area and have similar price tags in auctions. Maybe both will bring back close to equal value in returns. Or, the decision could make or break your season. Leave your choice and thoughts on the matter in the comments section.

I have to see more innings from Joba to really buy into his hype. I think the safer play is Clay. The Yanks seem to be unsure as to how they are exactly going to use him. Starter? RP? Less than 150 innings?

I give Clay the slight edge, since his potential win and K totals will exceed those of Joba’s.

I agree with the above. We have yet to see Joba start at the major league level, but we’ve seen Clay throw a no-hitter.

I think in the end if you’re a Yankee fan you keep Joba, hoping he’ll be perfect to root for as a fan with Red Sox fans keeping Clay for the same reason.

For this year, it’s Buchholz, since he has a more clearly defined role and a bigger innings cap. However, for a keeper-league, it’s a coin flip. Sure, Joba’s going to lose some velocity when he moves into the rotation, but his stuff will still be dominant. Both will have terrific run support and have to pitch in a tough division.

I’m going with Joba. However, most scouts lean slightly toward Buchholz.
