so, only because its championship weekend would i even think twice about this decision, but Should i play tony scheffler over tony gonzales, not only because he’s realted to willy, but also because gonzales hasn’t been getting his usual opportunities, and scheffler has been hot? Last couple weeks i went the wrong way on that.

I’m actually going to play Willy’s cousin over Vernon Davis in this one league this week, but no, I wouldn’t play Scheffler over Tony G. I just really, really like KC’s matchup this week. I’d stick with him.

Where do you put dave patten in this. Since Bush’s injury, patten has been seeing a lot of looks.
Yep, drafting T Henry and D McNabb has relegated my team to the consolation finals.

Patten could fall in the 32-40 range – most of those receivers have similar value, and he just missed the list. You’re right – he’s been good back-to-back weeks, and Brees has been on fire. Still, he’s inconsistent, and the Eagles’ secondary isn’t bad. He’s not a terrible flex play.

Tonight I have the Steelers (-8) over the Rams.

    DDD,

In the playoffs and need to decide upon Chris Henry and Driver.. I noticed your rankings but my question boils down to this..

Driver has more than 10 fantasy points once in the last 10 weeks.
Henry has more potential for a huge game.
    I don’t have PPR.
    It might snow in Cinci.
It should be a shootout in Cinci.
This is my #3 WR slot.

    Driver or Henry?

It’s a good/tough debate Brett. The reason I had Henry lower is b/c he’s so boom-or-bust. Even last week, his TD catch was his only reception of the game. Plus, weather is a mild concern (then again, that may also be the case in Chicago).

My assessment is this – b/c Driver will see more targets, he’s the safer option with the higher floor. However, b/c of the matchup and talent, Henry definitely has more upside.

So I’d base my start depending on if you think you’re the favorite this week (start Driver) or the underdog (start Henry). If that makes any sense.

I certainly wouldn’t blame you for starting Henry over Driver regardless, and I’m even questioning my rankings of them as I write this after second thought.

Oh man, it’s finals week baby. It looks like I’m going to have some tough calls here. I was lucky to have made the right call in sitting Roddy White against Tampa’s nasty pass D for Calvin Johnson…but I’m really not sure about this week. Detroit’s at home, which always makes me feel a little better, but I don’t fully trust the Lions offense (which makes me nervous about playing Kevin Jones, since he’s been boom or bust…but the score against KC should at least be close, so I’m counting on them being able to run). Roddy White should have a pretty decent matchup against Arizona too, and that could be a high scoring one…but I really don’t know what to think of the Atl QB after such a goose egg last week. At least he has the big arm.

For flex, I get to choose between Dayne, Chatman, Norwood and Kenny Watson. I was planning on going with Dayne, but now that Rudi’s out for the Bengals, I might lean towards Watson. Part of me is always tempted to sit Kevin Jones too, but I can’t say I’m all that confident that two of those guys would out-score him. The fact that it’s PPR makes me like Watson a lot, as he’s been catching a bunch of balls the last few weeks no matter what. DeDe Dorsey had better not steal too many touches!

    Thoughts?

Actually, Dayne doesn’t look likely to start, so I guess I’m leading towards Watson.

I actually think K. Jones should be solid this week. Always like him when Det. should be playing ahead for most of the game. It’s true like you said he’s very boom-or-bust, but that team is way better at home, and KC is pretty bad right now. I’d start KJ with confidence this week.

Dayne and Chatman are banged up, so they have to sit. Norwood has upside, but Atl sucks and Dunn will probably still get too many touches. I actually really like Watson this week. Cleveland D is terrible, the weather may be conducive to running more than passing, and he’s been solid when given the chance this year. Plus, they are at home, and I picked them to win. The fact it’s PPR makes him that much more valuable. I’m actually starting him over Kolby Smith and the Denver backs in one league this week. To me, it’s a no-brainer for you, but I’ve been wrong before.

Yeah, the way the injuries are playing out, it’s become a much easier decision. I imagine Norwood is going to keep getting more touches, but I’m not about to bet the Championship on it.

After being such a Roddy White backer for a while, is your ranking more a result of the horrible game last week, or what? It is kind of tough to trust the Falcons as they seem to be coming apart at the seams right now.

In hindsight, maybe White should be 3-5 spots higher, b/c it is a pretty good matchup, and Redman does have the arm to get it to him. Like you said, Atl. is tough to trust, and he’s basically been a zero for six straight quarters now. Still, he was awesome for a 2.5-game stretch right before that, and I think he’s fine to start this week. Def. a solid flex.

I started Calvin Johnson, Kevin Jones and Kenny Watson…1 out of 3 ain’t bad. Damn you, Roddy White!!

My apologies for my previous K. Jones comment – you can NEVER “start him with confidence.” That guy’s body parts are made of paper-machete.

Did you lose b/c of it?

He’s the new Mr. Glass. The Lions were determined to run the ball, so it wasn’t like he was a bad start, just the luck of the draw. Fortunately, my opponent had McGahee, so unless Scheffler and Kaeding really go off tonight, I should actually win the thing. If I’d started Roddy White instead of Calvin Johnson, there wouldn’t be any doubt…but oh well.

Good deal. Neither went off tonight, so break out the Yoo-Hoo (what’s the football equivalent?).

    Merry Christmas!

How’d you end up this season? I’d feel bad if it’s all your readers reaping the rewards. After being a perpetual first-round playoff, I actually won in 3 leagues this year…with the one team I thought was best losing in the first round. As usual, thanks for all the good articles and advice. I’m looking forward to 2008 and some good baseball talk!

Same to you Keith. Honestly, my fantasy football season ended up as a disappointment. I lost three leagues by a combined 2.5 points during Week 15, and then had league-high scores the next week (#16). I won a couple – including a league with a bunch of Yahoo! guys (and my first ever auction), but for how many I was in, I def. could have ended up better.

Oh well. I’m getting pumped for baseball.
