    DDD…

    1. How much does Mo Morris go up if Alexander is out? Or does facing the Bears leave him there?

    2. Why is Evans so low? Don’t you think they will be throwing all day between Lynch being out and being down by 25 at half?

hey dalton, would you play I’ve got a a WR spot and a flex spot open, with chris henry, burleson, dante hall, and warrick dunn as options (return yard league).

I’m leaning towards henry and dunn, withnorwood still hurt. but hall puts up some crazt return numbers as does burleson

Brett – The Bears have actually been ran on this season, but I still wouldn’t bump up Mo Morris all that much with no Alexander. It’s not even really a knock – those are 21 pretty damn good options in front of him. Also, Seattle just isn’t the same run blocking unit with no Hutchinson and a declining Walter Jones. They should continue to go pass-heavy.

I rarely look at past team history when making decision regarding football. In baseball, it’s great to look at history b/w batters and pitchers, but typically, it’s a worthless endeavor in football. Moreover, receivers are much, much harder to predict performance based on matchups opposed to running backs…That said, here are Evans’ career numbers versus New England — 7 games, 14 catches, 247 yards, 0 touchdowns. That’s 2 catches per game for 35.3 ypg with ZERO scores in a pretty decent sample size.

While I agree there’s a possibility he’ll catch a deep one with the score out of hand Sunday, I’d personally feel more comfortable starting any of those other WRs I rank above him. It’s a one week deal – still love Evans long-term.

Chad – To be perfectly honest, you’d be much better at that decision than me, b/c I really don’t know the return yardage numbers from those guys like you do. I think you have to start Chris Henry, but out of those other 3, your guess is as good as mine….Hall is listed as questionable with a high ankle sprain, so I’d probably steer clear of him (although I expect the Rams to be returning plenty of punts vs. the 9ers Sunday). With Branch back in the fold in Seattle, Burleson is even less likely to see much action in the passing game. Dunn makes sense, but that’s a pretty tough matchup.

Leftwich coming back, and you still have your boy Roddy down so low? I think he just fired you as president of his fan club.

I was in a rush to send a trade offer before I went out of town this weekend, and when deciding who to package on my stacked RB team, I was debating between L.White + B.Jacobs or Portis, and accidentally offered all three…oops, and then Purple Jesus went down…4 RB’s gone in no time. If this was my money league, I’d be ill.

Sneaky DEF plays: either D in the Min/Oak game, right?

Leftwich isn’t sure to return (although I think he will) and TB D is pretty tough, but more so than that, take a look at all of those good options before him. Seriously, seems like a lot of good WR matchups this week for some reason. I don’t want to be fired!

Who did you get in return for those three backs?

Yes I agree, but I’d easily prefer Minny D over Oakland D. I picked them to cover that spread. Culpepper is not going to be getting his roll on.

The Bucs secondary has allowed 6.1 YPA and six passing scores this season.

Time to talk scrub backup RBs. Are there any of these guys that you like, not for this week, but going forward? I need to make some decisions…
    Ladell Betts
    Leon Washington
    Kolby Smith
    Andre Hall
    Adimchinobi Echemandu

    Any comments would be appreciated.

Honestly, the player who has the most value out these will come through an injury, so knowing that more luck will be involved than intelligent analysis, here goes:

Ladell Betts – Really let me down this year. He was very good last year but is a non-entity right now. Wash. run blocking isn’t as good with all those injuries on the o-line, but it’s still decent and they are a run-first team. Of all those RBs mention, Betts has the most upside, so I’d rank him No. 1 priority. Portis is prone to injury.

Leon Washington – Again, a disappointment. The Jets can’t block, and it’s going to take a Thomas Jones injury for him to see the field. He is explosive (best kick returner in the game), so I’d rank him No. 3.

Kolby Smith – I guess I need to start realizing coaches value veterans so highly. Blocking is a big part of it. Anyway, P. Holmes is clearly going to get all of the touches here, but I say he’s the most likely starter of this group to go down to injury, making K. Smith interesting. KC’s offense limits his upside, but he is a good athlete. He can’t be used now, but for stashing purposes, I’d rank him No. 2.

Andre Hall – Yes, in deep leagues, he’s worth stashing. If you’re counting on Selvin Young from here on out, then I’d actually pick up Hall over any of these other RBs just to be safe – he’s def. the new No. 2 RB in Denver, and one of Young’s knocks was his lack of durability coming out of college.

Joe Echemandu – I hate this guy b/c he made me look like an idiot trying to pronounce his name live on the radio, but nevertheless, he has shown flashes. But he’s pretty much the No. 3 option behind A. Green (who I expect to be severely limited from now on) and Ron Dayne. I’d rather Dayne, but keep your eye on Echemandu. I’d prob. rank him last, but he does have upside. That offense should be good w/ Dre Johnson and Schaub back.

Awesome feedback. Will def hang onto Kolby Smith now. Betts has totally let me down as well. I can’t wait to be able to drop Travis Henry.
    Thanks.

Kitna ahead of Brees? Brees has 13 TDs in his last 5 games whereas Kitna has only 4 TDs in his last 5 games. Brees seems close to a number 1 tier QB to me, but you dont even have him in the second tier.

Fair argument Paul, and I’ll take a mea culpa here. I only have Brees one spot below Kitna, who I expect to have a pretty good game Sunday, but in hindsight, Brees should be more in the 7-8 range. While I don’t like N.O. as much when playing outdoors, that game should be a shootout (Houston’s offense is healthy), and Brees should benefit. I picked Houston to win that game, but you’re right, I had Brees too low this week.

  13. Paul R Avatar

If I had to choose, I would pick the Saints to win that game in Houston. It is both Schaub’s and A. Johnson’s first game in a while after being out with injuries, so they are probably not in sync yet, but I guess you can also say they are well rested and could be more energized than everybody else.

    RotoScoop

Ya, should be a close game, as evidenced by the point spread. I just don’t think this N.O. team is all that good, and on the road outdoors bodes well for a rested team coming off the bye. But good point, it may take a bit for the offense to jell with Johnson/Schaub being out. Although they have had two weeks of practice.

I got Braylon back for my RB package…who I was so damn close to taking over Reggie Brown in my draft to begin with (damnit). Not a good deal, especially with Peterson going down (please come back!). I think I’m jumping on the Minny ‘D’ this week, and I think I will play Hackett over White as my WR3, since I’d forgotten how good the Tampa D has been against the pass and WR’s. Nice job against the spread…you could still blog from Vegas (goodbye Google ads!)

I’m going Hackett over White in my league.

Yeah, I think going with Hackett was the right move; well done. Romo is the man.

Schaub is on the wire, and I’d love to have him as a backup…but my bench is loaded. Would you drop Dayne, Fargas, Chatman, R.White, Calvin Johnson or Kenny Watson for him? I like all of them, but I’d also like to get some Romo insurance in case you start talking about the Hall of Fame for him too.

I think you simply have to hang onto all of those backs. I’d drop C. Johnson or White, probably my boy White. And well done with the Romo comment. I’m going to put on knee pads for my Tuesday Morning Quarterback slurping!
