Thanks Brett….I switched it to the Knick/Celtics game tonight during a commercial from the Cowboys game and the score was like 101-49 or something. Insane.

I think they’ve got 2 major problems. The first is keeping Ray Allen healthy, he only played in 54 games last season and his ankle is already beginning to have problems.
The second problem is Doc Rivers. He can’t coach and everyone knows it. Sure in the regular season they can put up gaudy numbers against the weaker teams in the league, but when he has to actually call plays, “coach” and make changes on the fly in a playoff game, whether its against Popovich, Sloan, or DiAntoni, Boston fans are gonna have Grady Little flashbacks.,,

Meanwhile here in NYC I’ll go back to wondering how the Knicks can actually get paid for last nights game when the Washington Generals have put in more effort…

Jeremy – All excellent points. As I mentioned, health is a huge issue with the aging stars. What you brought up might be just as important, and that’s Doc Rivers’ utter ineptitude. Right now, I still think the Spurs or Suns beat them in a 7-game series. Maybe even the Mavs too.

Right now, Vegas has Boston at 2 to 1 – the favorites to win it all.

Spurs and Suns are next at 7 to 2. Crazy.

Meanwhile the Spurs are resting Duncan every chance they get and everyone is waiting to see if Kerr can pull the right trade off..

How do you feel about the Celtics matching up against the Magic? They’ve got a Big 3 that’s taller and younger than the Celtics and seem to be growing Jameer Nelson as the season goes on. They’re also 9-1 on the road which is huge in the NBA…

Exactly. The Spurs’ regular season record always needs to be ignored – they clearly gear for the postseason. I’d still take them if I had to choose one team to win it all. I was fairly aggressive with the Magic in my season preview, but I’m def. kicking myself for not having them be much higher – I totally thought this was a possibility. Dwight Howard is a top-5 player in the NBA right now, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up beating the C’s in a 7-game series. I still think Boston is probably a little better, with the Magic still a year or two away from reaching their full potential, but it’s def. a legit team.
