Tony Romo = #3 QB? Drew “Stonehands” Bennett ahead of Coles, Moss?

Just curious. What do you think of Kevin Curtis? Where do you rank him? He’s a WR3 on a team of mine. Other option – James Jones.

Steve – The Giants’ secondary is terrible, and the group just below Romo all have much tougher matchups, no?

I have no problem with you starting Coles over Bennett, but I wouldn’t trust Randy Moss this week – I’m not even sold he’s going to play. He hasn’t practiced in a month. Meanwhile, with a gimpy Torry Holt and a team that loves to throw the ball near the goal line, Bennett looks like a decent start.

Already putting AP at the #16 Rb, huh? Is the ATL run D supposed to be poor, or is that just you showing your general confidence? I’m debating AP vs. the Portis/Betts combo (shame on you for cheating and listing RB’s together in one spot; shame on you!). Any guesses as to which of the ‘Skins backs gets the most work this week?

I can’t help but think LenDale is going to prove you wrong (though I don’t think the Jax run-D will make it that easy).

Butch – Curtis would come in right after the guys I listed above and in the next tier. Call him 40-B. He’s not a bad play, especially if the Packers choose to put Al Harris solely on Reggie Brown. I’d start him over James Jones, who’s a little riskier this early on.

Keith – A little of both regarding AP. I expect Minny to be ahead during that game and run it a ton. But I hear ya, he’ll probably be more valuable later on in the year, but compared to the matchups some of the other backs have, I’d take him versus a soft ATL defense right now.

If I were forced to guess, I’d choose Betts, but it’s very close. Obviously, I’d go with Peterson over both this week. Sorry about the cheating, it was an easy way of avoiding a headache. But I honestly do value them equally as of now.

LenDale might prove me wrong, but I didn’t list too many scrubs ahead of him.

Most of my LenDale talk is in jest, since I have him in every league and NEED him to do well, but I still think he’ll be a great value if taken in the 8th/9th round.

PPR League: Mark Clayton vs. CIN in the flex spot over LenDale? I’m thinking yes, or I might do Leon Washington if T.Jones sounds like he’ll be limited.

One of my leagues counts return yardage too…you know any decent WR3 types who’ll also return kickoffs? I’m holding onto Jacoby Jones, but I figure punt returns are must less predictable than kickoffs.

Man, I’m ready for the season to start…fortunately got the bye in my money playoff league, and it finally looks like Hafner, Beltran and Ramon Hernandez are hot…keep it up another cople of weeks, fellas!

    “…in my money *baseball* league…”
I’ll put the wine down now.

Keith – Ya, I’d go Clayton over White, but it’s not a slam dunk. Still, Clayton could go off. I actually think he might turn out to be big, despite McNair’s inability to go downfield. And obviously Week 1 is a great matchup w/ Cincy. I’ll try to think of some WR/kickoff return guys, as none come to mind except for Jacoby Jones. Too bad you don’t have Ronnie Brown!

Speaking of baseball, I dropped Scott Baker two days before his near perfect game, and then picked up Clay Bucholz and spot started him for his no-no – crazy turn of events.

that’s a hell of a spot start! I don’t think too many saw either of those performances coming. I traded Verlander the week before his no-no, largely because his lack of K’s (D.Lee + Verlander for Hafner in my league that counts walks, and I needed power, and already had Felix, Bonderman, Kazmir, Gallardo, Lincecum…), and of course he whiffed 12 in that game too.

Thanks for the feedback…I’m worried about my Flex in that league. I might try and pry K.Jones away since he should have value (especially in PPR) before too long.

I still don’t believe Ronnie Brown will return kicks…I’ll be shocked, but weirder things have happened. If Burleson in SEA gets more work at WR, he might be decent in the receiving/returning combo I think.

I think ppl who came away with Kevin Jones (usually at good value) will be happy this year. I’d easily, easily draft him ahead of Tatum Bell right now. KJ could be a difference maker over the 2nd half of the season. Martz needs a back who can catch the ball.

I agree, no way Ronnie Brown actually does return kicks, I said that tongue in cheek….Burleson – good call.

You can’t underestimate NFL coaches, GM’s and players; see Matt Millen, the handling of the Jaguar QB position, Michael Vick, etc, etc. What’s intended as tongue-in-cheek here, can all to easily end up as reality.
