Luis Castillo deserves to be on this list. He usually is always hitting around .300, can still steal 20 bases a year and is one of the best defensive players at his position.

Still that high on weeks? Everyone hyped him coming in, and its been nothing. What makes you think he will perform from here on?

Paul – Agree that Castillo is one of the best defenders at his position in the game, but that doesn’t help him fantasywise. He’s also injury-prone. That said, he’s a legitimate .300 hitter and 20 SBs from a MI does give him value. Second base is actually pretty deep – at least with decent options late, as my No. 20-25 ranked guys are all pretty solid. Castillo is right there with them.

Mr. Trump – I’m not as high on Weeks as I used to be. Honestly, I struggled with that third tier (6-12), as you could reverse the order, and I wouldn’t be too opposed to it. I put Weeks that high b/c he has the most upside of the group, with legit 25/25 potential. He also plays in a real good lineup. However, he strikes out too much to be of much help in BA, and the wrist injury is a serious concern – odds are it crops back up at some point this season, which is part of the reason Mill didn’t even send him on a rehab assignment (didn’t want to waste bullets at Triple-A). There are safer options I listed below him.

But all in that group come with question marks, and none match the power/speed combo Weeks possesses. He had 5 HRs and 5 SBs during April. That type of pace over the course of a season would make him a top-20 fantasy player.

With 9 games played last year and 2 this year, in what percentage of leagues is Chone Figgins 2B-eligible?

Good point Steve. Instead of taking into account what position players are most likely available in, I went with their most valuable position in some leagues. But it’s a hurdle that’s tough for me to clear – since each league is different. Figgins is available at 2B in Yahoo! leagues, which is probably the main reason I listed him here since that site is so popular. However, I see your point and would venture to guess he’s not MI eligible in the majority of leagues.
