Good rankings although I think you might have W. Taveras ranked too high on the list. I would pick OF’s like Hunter, Patterson or Cameron over Taveras. I see Taveras winding up with similar numbers as Dave Roberts by end of the season.

Paul – You might be right about that. I just think Taveras is going to run wild in Colorado. I am also banking on Coors improving his average, although Houston wasn’t a bad place to hit either. I’m fine with you placing him at Roberts’ level tho, it’s a good possibility.

I think Holliday is a top 5 outfielder this year. He is just coming into his own and I think as he continues to learn how to take pitches more he will just get better. I certainly dont think .320 40 100 120 10 is out of the realm of possibilities but even if he doesnt hit those lofty projections I bet he is better than Ichiro and definately Abreu and with Ramirez and Vlad aging I think both fall off b/c of missed time.

Agreed that there isn’t a huge drop off from my #5 ranking to my #10. It would probably be better for Holliday if he continued to bat cleanup, but a move to the 5-hole shouldn’t hurt too much, considering Helton’s strong OBP. The only reason I have Sizemore, Ichiro and Abreu above him is b/c of the premium I put on steals. I think that separates them. Hitting third in the Yankee lineup is about as good of a situation as you can be in. That said, I also think Coors goes back to favoring hitters more this year.

In short, I like to take SB guys early, especially using it to separate a position as deep as OF. But, Holliday is a stud, and you won’t be sorry drafting him in round 2.

Also, I’d rather take Holliday in picks 15-25 than I would Vlad/Beltran in picks 8-12. That’s for sure.
