Ya Matt Anderson was supposed to be a stud closer and it never happened. Doesn’t look like he’s any closer nowadays either.

Hopefully Zumaya won’t end up like another pitcher the Tigers had….MATT ANDERSON!

I believe he topped out at 103 MPH in 2000 or 2001.

His last stint in the majors was with Colorado last season.

11 walks in 10 innings!

Now he’s with the Giants organization at AAA Fresno and still struggling…

8.10 ERA with 31 hits given up in 23 innings…2.23 WHIP

1st overall pick in the 1997 DRAFT!

Good point Tommy, and I’m beginning to lean toward a longer time period myself. It should become clearer soon, once the doctors detail the surgeries a bit more. But you’re right about the lack of food intake and such.

Ben’s broken jaw will likely linger longer than 6-8 weeks, especially if he pushes it.

Remember, Shareef broke his jaw in early December and came back around the end of January, but it took him another 5-6 weeks to build up stamina and strength. Not much you can eat with your face wired shut . . .

As long as his knees aren’t torn, Big Ben should be back in 6-8 weeks. The broken jaw will take that long in itself. Crazy is right.

Sadly, I think Ankiel is done too. Juan Gone too for that matter, but it’s funny to watch his comeback trail.
